GemBario, inspired by the good old Magic Jewelry game on NES by Hwang Shinwei and the RCM Group, is a lightweight clone of the original written entirely in HTML5 and Javascript.

The game combines classic Match-3 with a Tetris like play style where blocks spawn from above and your task is to match minimum 3 colors horizontally, vertically, and diagonally. Any matches bigger than three or when you manage to create cascades, the game rewards you with higher points.

There is also a special piece, a joker, which helps you clear all the colors on the canvas when it lands on one color from above. Joker spawns right after you level up, after clearing 100 Gems in a level.

As you level up, the game canvas changes colors as well as the music tracks playing in the background. At the same time, each time you level up, the speed in which the three blocks fall increases incrementally to make the game more challenging.

There is also a universal leaderboard where you will be prompted to submit your scores if you wish to do so.
